High School Highlights
The Talon Online Newspaper Introduced
Taking another step toward building the legacy of DKJA, one of the newest course offerings at  the high school is journalism. In keeping with the times, the students' writing appears in The Talon, an online electronic newspaper, the link for which is http://my.hsj.org/fl/bocaraton/dkja. The Talon made its debut October 27, 2008. The journalism course stems from student requests last spring. The eight students participating in the program include Shiri Zweibel, Hila Sachs, Suzann Cayne, Annie Cohen, Nikki Landau, Alexis Schoenberger, and brothers Darren and Brett Kaplan (shown at right). In the few days since its online debut, many other students have inquired about writing for The Talon. Dr. Marc Leeds teaches the course, bringing to the classroom his experience in writing books as well as financial and corporate newsletters and documentary photography.
